I drive my 944 for a few weeks and then drive the 911 for a few weeks. I love them both. The 944 is more comfortable and handles great. The 911 is faster and does not handle as well but that makes it more fun (or scarier sometimes).
I have a fantastic commute to work - 26 miles each way. This morning I drove the 911 and maintained a cool 100 on the freeway which was fairly empty this morning. Then I have a quick 2 miles thru the country which ends on a fantastic, wide, empty, zig-zagy road. I've been chuckling all day as I managed to do a perfect drift around the empty curved road this morning. I rarely get it right but this morning was pretty good. Of course the 944 takes the turn faster but the 911 pulls out of the turn much faster.
To answer your questions:
Which do you drive more? How do you use the cars differently?
1) I always plan to drive the 944 more and spare the 911 but I can never seem to park the 911 after I get driving.
2) I drive them both the same - they are both great cars.
2b) I've hauled lumber in the 944.
