In my experience, you have blown the drive side CV joint....I did the same thing. Hard launches on the starts and equally hard downshifts led to a loud thump, and then no go...simply replacing the axle and two good CVs got me back on the track in 30 minutes...
Later a disasembly found an explosion of parts....nothing saveable....
