We had a wood shop teacher at school in the mid '70s who carved decoys. The were absolutely beautiful and carved & colored in minute detail. He even carved the texture of the feathers. At the time I just admired them & told him how beautiful they were. It didn't occur to me at the time to ask about buying any of them. I have since wished many times I'd offered to buy some. They were of the quality that would bring huge money now, but I'd most likely have kept all of them because of their beauty. I have three on the fireplace mantel carved in the '80s now. Although I like them, they don't begin to compare to the ones he did.
