This time around I polished the lips using some mops on a power drill and then taped up the rim lip to protect the polished area. Next I bead blasted using #30 beads with a reasonably gentle pressure to take the shine off everything. Some more masking and I laid a couple of coats of 2k satin black over the inner and outer barrels and the petal area.
I'm really pleased with the outcome and can't wait to get the Michelin TBs on!

John, been a while on this thread, but I am finally working on my 7's. Question, did you clear coat everything after you finished? Did you protect the raw aluminum after it was blasted? I am concerned that if I don't shoot some finish on the wheel, it will be a PIA to keep clean. Thanks, Mark
