I wondered about this too...wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a flashback or real time. Also wasn't sure what this scene was trying to do. Was it just another attempt at showing that the Governor is unable to escape his past and re-invent himself as 'Brian'? This whole episode seemed to be about the Governor slowly reverting back to the murderous psycho that he really is.
And how exactly did this waist-deep bog come to be in the middle of the road in the first place? Did Martinez's crew set that up to protect their camp, or did it just form on it's own and a bunch of walkers happen to get caught up? I thought that scene was pretty weak.
And why, after seeing that other camp wiped out by someone other than walkers, didn't Martinez's crew hustle right back to protect their own group and supplies?
Well, we're all caught up with the Governor's story now and he's back at the prison where we left him 2 episodes ago. Looks like it's all gonna hit the fan next week, but I know they'll leave us waiting 'till February to find out what the outcome of the big showdown will be.
