Yea, we have a good region.
(Old geezer voice) Back in the good ol days we had THE biggest regional event of ANY region except Parade. The Tech sessions were amazing. To have the very top Porsche factory employees come talk to our region was great. I slammed beers with Tony Lapine and Hanz Metzger. Hanz taught me to NEVER try to keep up with the German drinking beer. We drank every St. Pauli Girl beer in the place. I could barley walk back to my hotel room. They gave away several titanium connecting rods from the very engine that won Le Mans. Or the rear view mirror from a winning Le Mans car. I never won any of them.
I got to know Bruce Anderson and had a long conversation over dinner about which 911 to buy. No doubt he had the same conversation with thousands of PCA members over the years.
PCA national worked REAL hard to kill our event. The did not like the fact the we had a close personal relationship with the factory and did not have to go through national officers. The year Helmut Bott came to talk was our biggest year. We gave Helmut a Indian head bust that is wearing a full War Bonnet. He kept it on his desk at the factory. I have a statue just like it for my time serving as the local region President several years back.
I have seen the board completely turn over several times. I am the geezer that will not go away.
