I really think that the concept of "market price" is only a guideline for these cars which are now 30+ years old. For an SC, prices range from 12K for one that is shabby and will need "everything" to the very nice low mileage examples offered at $35K or more by Brett Sloan or other top - line sellers.
I'm currently offering a very nice '81 SC that has "everything rebuilt" including engine, suspension, trans, interior etc. Paint is fair. It's a deal at $20K
On that excellence website there's an 87 with low miles offered at 55K - prices are all over the map. But the condition and maintenance history of the car in question, and what the prospective buyer is willing to pay, is a far greater determinant of price than it might be for other, more pedestrian cars.
