And, if I remember rightly, young fast-growing trees (like those planted for paper) convert more greenhouse gases than older, more mature varieties.
Just another of those non-obvious things where the course that doesn't seem "green" is actually better - like the wind turbines around here where the electricity production will take 35 years to offset the carbon footprint of manufacturing them - but they have a projected service life of 10 years...
People still buy newspapers? I used to buy a sunday paper every now and again. Haven't done that for well over a decade now...
