I did a whole series of pictures of some of my cameras with a manual focus lens on my D7000.
I set it up on the tripod, set the ISO so it was a looonnnggg exposure time, then varied the f- stop with each succeeding picture. It was interesting to see how the lens back focused a bit as the aperture changed.
The most fun was using a flashlight to high light certain parts during a 34-sec exposure.
