Looking good Nostril!!! I took apart the homemade flying V today and put in a Samshin pickup that I had left out of a BC Rich Warlock, put in some copper tape and basically soldered it all in a EVH type circuit. Plugged it in and it sounded very decent for a scrap piece of pressure treated 2x12. I may post a video of my playing it tomorrow if I get a chance.
Man all of this guitar talk has really got me feeling nostalgic for my first guitar. I was hoping you guys could help me figure out what it was. My very first guitar was one of those Kiss toy plastic guitars with the fishing string, I don't consider that a first real guitar. My dad purchased me two guitars about a month before he died. I was ten at the time and I guess he must of got them out of a dumpster or at a garage sale or flea market. This was in 1978 and one of the guitars was a wooden acoustic, it was missing tuners and didn't have a string on it. I think I put that in the closet and never saw it again. It wasn't rock and roll enough for me. The second guitar he got me looked sort of similar to the Gretsch 335 pictured on the previous page. It was a maroon colored guitar, hollow bodied, but electric. It was light weight and I think it was made of plastic or resin, but remembering what I can, it seemed like it was quality resin or plastic. I can't remember what happened to that guitar, but I wish I could remember what it was so I could get another...
