Honestly the only things I've done to mine is an alternator, battery, a ABS wheel sensor, and get the A/C charged. Well…besides put in a kick ass stereo system worth 3 times the value of the truck.
I bought it just to use as a bad weather beater, it has done that well. Been using it as a daily driver around town as a grocery getter and to doc appointments as I recovered with my foot and it always just goes. Had it checked out after I first bought it and the well recommended mechanic said the old Range Rover Classics, pre 1996, are mechanically bulletproof and I could drive it till it rusts out. Must be something to that statement. When laid up with my foot my brother drove it for two weeks with the low water and hot dummy lights on. No wonder he doesn't have a car that works. II didn't see the lights on until he took me to a doc appointment. Topped up the water and has been running fine since. The really sad part is, even though during that time I was not supposed to be vertical i.e. have my foot below my heart at the time, had to top the water up myself. Again, no wonder his car doesn't run and he somehow can't ever afford to fix it.
