After my wife running her accounting and tax practice from our home office for 20yrs., and with me joining her in Jan. 2010, and a growing client base (approx. 350), we've kind of outgrown the office space at home.
This building, across the street in our village, came up for a short sale this past March, and we've been chasing it since then.
It was the former village Post Office and general store in the early 1900's. This is what it looked like circa 1902.
The side closest to the camera is the PO side, where we'll be putting our office. It still has the original Parcel Post window, and many of the original mailboxes, which we'll be working into the office design. Much work needed, and we hope to have it complete by Dec. 2014. Right side of the building is a two story rental, which needs little work to be ready. We hope to have it rented in 2 months to get some cash flow out of the property. Another adventure...never been landlords before. Grant me strength, lord.
