Why not throw some RV antifreeze in for the down season and drain it before next season. Non toxic and easy to dilute and dispose of. Even if you added some of this to the mix and then drain it, it may stop some of the water that doesn't drain from freezing and damaging your block.
Do you use Wetter Water or something that has some rust inhibitors or just straight water?
