So, does anyone know how the Thruxton holds up as a track bike or race bike? The "other" pushrod twins of similar heritage/pedigree - the Sportsters and their offshoots, the Buells, have a horrible reputation in this regard.

The shop that is sponsoring me ( on a Triumph 675 ) also sponsors a rider on a AHRMA thruxton . They had no issues all season, and won at Road America. I looked up the lap times from that Barber race and they are not fast bikes. Disalvo was barely into the :41s A friend of mine was the guy who got third and he is a fast Expert club racer and he and the rest of the podium and near podiums were in the 44s
A good bit faster than a Ninja 250 and a good bit slower than a SV650.
