I dislike Microsoft because of that soft of thing. I've run email servers for a very long time, basically since they existed. In the beginning there was an anti-virus anti-spam software called Reliable Anti Virus or RAV. It was from a company in Romania, they had versions for every email server on every operating system and did a fantastic job. Absolutely zero virus and spam would get past it.
Then enter Microsoft. They bought the software company making and supporting RAV. Microsoft didn't increase the price, they killed it. And it wasn't to integrate the software into their own email server either as even today Exchange has not built-in anti-virus or anti-spam. With the explosion of spam and viruii after Microsoft shut RAV down the only conclusion I could logically come up with is that Microsoft is in the spam and virus business.
As a point of content, back when viruii very first started Microsoft was the ONLY company showing any concern for software being copied and shared. And rumors were that Microsoft itself unleashed the first virus. They use fear of virus to get people to buy software instead of copy it AND you upgrade your computer after virus infections make it slow and crash a lot just because it's easier than cleaning it up.
I only use Microsoft software because the company I work for forces me to.
