Good luck!
Full story is a little more complicated...but here it is. Went for colonoscopy 5 years ago...asked my GP at last annual inspection when the next one was to be done as the written explanation was that I get one every 5 years.

He went and checked and somehow I was on the 10 year list....some head scratching went on and they apparently they realized that the written report and the reminder list were not in sync....so I got an expedited visit.

Spoke to the specialist for the pre-exam, she noted that the operator had noted 5 years ago that my prep was not ideal and there was about 10% of the intestine that he couldn't see as there was fluid still in the intestine.

I remember speaking with him about it during the procedure and he said I should have drank more water. I explained that I had followed the prep to the letter and he said, oh well....and continued. They have a suction device on the probe and they were able to vacuum some of the fluid up...but the intestine has a few curves and bumps...hard to do it all that way.

Pre-exam specialist asked what prep I had used...and when I told her, she said that particular prep regime had not worked out all that well and they didn't use it anymore. According to her, some patients had enough fluid that they actually had to cancel the colonoscopy and redo the prep at a later date.

So, will use the new prep...will watch carefully this time and see if there is an improvement. It is a neat procedure for sure, quite interesting! Last time they removed two polyps...hoping for zero this time....
