V6 swap
I think that Renegade Hybrids in Las Vegas, Nevada used to do V6 swaps, but has pretty much gone to the V8 route instead. You might check with them to see the feasibility and costs involved. If you do the V6 swap, you might still want to use radiators and other cooling components that would be usable if you do go to a V8 some time in the future.
Anything can be done, it just depends how much you want to spend.
