Not a lawyer but I can only see this going one way...the dealership's insurance is going to make the Hoopers lawyer-up but will settle the case to include the Hooper's attorney fees and a new ZL1 or the money equivalent. In the middle, the dealership's reputation will get a serious black-eye and Hoopers will loose any faith in humanity they ever have had. Everyone loses.
