The amount of mileage driven isn't as important as that Hagerty requires that you have a 2nd "main" form of transportation and your wife's car would not count, she has to have her own car. I have a motorcycle as my main form of transportation that I commute on, they were fine with that.

I think the biggest factor in your yearly cost with Hagerty is the insured value for a total loss, then your deductibles. My 86 911 is insured for $25k with $0 deductibles, flatbed towing included, 5k miles per year, and it's like $600/yr.

A few other classic car insurers may be cheaper but my uncle has owned his own Allstate business his entire life yet uses Hagerty for his 69 corvette and recommended them as the best in his opinion, so I signed up with Hagerty and although in nearly 2 years I've only called them once for a tow, I have no complaints.
