Was it a micro, bay window or a vanagon? The vanagon westfalias are much safer. IMO My family daily driver is a 82 turbo diesel 1.9. We hit a deer with it at 40 mph and only broke the turn signal. A friend with a f350 hit a deer at 65 took out the grill, valance,
Radiator, water pump, and maybe the headlights. They are very safe and versatile
Vehicles just don't go 70+ mph. 62 is where it likes to cruise on the freeway.
