Sean's Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs . FYI if you get a Samsung drive, they have an application that makes these tweaks more user friendly (IE just click a button to enable/disable a feature instead of doing a registry tweak.)
Windows 8 does a lot of these things already but Windows 7 does not.
