1). I'm guessing Al has a lower radar signature with a bit of trick paint?
2). With a hybrid drive+solar panels, it could sit for long periods then drive invisible of heat signature from the air.
3). Plus, because of lightweight design it would be more portable by air, more fuel efficient for distance travel, thus more independent from supply lines/zones...
