D, I'm not sure I'd bother milling the heads. If it didn't overheat enough to mix fluids, you should be fine and, honestly, the block is just as likely to need milling. Besides, the RN replacement gaskets are usually a bit thicker to accommodate minor deviations. Even with timing chain and new gears (the teeth are nylon) you're looking at $150 in parts. |
i'll check the heads with a proper straight edge and see how many sheets of paper i can fit under the straight edge. the cylinder heads were only re-done a couple of years. i am truly hoping that i don't find shenanigans when i pull it apart. i'd hate to have to find another shop.
i think the timing chain kit i was looking at has metal teeth. i could be wrong.
and yes, you do look like a hairdresser: its just that the hairdresser YOU have to go to is not very good....
