Sucking in dirt will kill that Duramax dead.
You are smart not to run any kind of tuner or chip w/o gauges. Those trucks came pretty fast from the factory so I'd be real careful adding power. I'm not against modding diesels if it's done intelligently but often it's not.

Agreed. A K&N filter (previous owner) lead to the early demise of my 914/6 engine. After the rebuild I switched to paper filters.
