Too much theft these days. Either go with the safe or build a cabinet that would be very difficult to break into. Multiple locks, wire reinforced fire glass, etc. Also have a way to lock the pieces in the safe, a chain thru the trigger guards or a locking bar that will hold the long guns in place come to mind. If you want to display something, buy some replica guns that look real but don't actually shoot.
