Air suspension is a weak point and if the right part fails, it's expensive. The headlights are also not cheap to replace. If you use the remote buttons for your garage door on the rear view, those wear out and pretty much overnight. Normal service really isn't that bad. Other than that, it's a pretty solid car.

Edit: Strike what I said, though I'll leave it for posterity. Misread the SL550 as an S550.
