As a track car, it has much potential ( TBD), but I think their target audience should be their historical muscle car, drag strip market.

It has been my experience that there are more Corvettes at the track days that I attend than Porsches. Corvettes have a long history with road racing. Long and successful.
The competition is good for all of the brands.
