You can go to a vinyl sign shop and they can cut you the stencil - you will have basically the 'shell' left over from cutting out the letters.

There are a bunch of places on the web that have free fonts - One of my favs is 1001 Free Fonts - here is a link to their 'retro' fonts

You can download the fonts and create your own look.
