Make a sign about 2 feet wide by 1 foot tall with bold block letters that says...

DON'T REV YOUR ENGINE
AT ME. THIS LITTLE CAR
WILL BEAT YOURS LIKE A
RENTED MULE.

...and keep it behind the seat... whip it out and hold it up as necessary.
