I'm hoping to drive my 996 for a few years then upgrade to a 997, I think they are the sweet spot for modern 911s. Agreed. Now, once the 997.2's get to be affordable... I'll be all over that. Or an aero package car. I'm about equal on 997.1's and 996 C4S's, but an aero 997 is so incredibly superior aesthetically to any previous water cooled car that it isn't even a fair comparison.
Unfortnately, everyone else agrees and they are priced accordingly.
