As a geezer I can remember when the MFI pumps were first starting to get old and have problems. Very few mechanics are bright enough to figure them out. There was just one guy in town that knew enough to get a mechanical fuel injection car running right. The dealer back then was not able to do it. Lots of 911s had the MFI ripped off and carbs installed back then.
I remember back then telling myself to never get a MFI car. My Motronic systems is about right. Not stupid complicated, and it works real well. Just carry a spare DME relay!
