I my world a proper paint job on a Porsche is several thousands, if done properly. My wrapped Porsche will be painted once I have got the money for that expensive paint job.

Another thing, since I have wrapped the car, I am not as concerned about its looks and I tend to use the car more. After all, it is just a wrap.

If you want to wrap your car, just remember, the wrap won't be any smoother than the surface beneath the vinyl.
I suppose you're right - my statement was broad and rather vague.

Let me elaborate:

I agree that a proper paint job costs thousands of dollars.

My thought when replying to the thread was with regard to a professional wrap - these have a tendency to cost thousands (yes, thousands, multiple) when done using quality wrap and a quality installer. I know this because a friend of mine does professional installations and quoted me between $2400 and $3200 to wrap my 911, difference driven by the vinyl.

While I agree, a proper paint job is probably several thousand above that, this is still an expensive task.
