And as for the crash crumpling the unibody, no kidding--if you're going fast enough. Otherwise,
  • depend on the sheet metal upfront
  • remember that the accident might not be your fault--ca-ching!
  • don't worry about the 'what ifs'
  • keep in mind that the bumper absorbers are only good for 'low-speed' collisions.
  • the Euro-bumper is a bumper without bumper absorbers plus a couple of pad modifications.

Lots of posters have done this including myself. No accidents yet. No worries.
