Maybe at one point - they're just a brand now. Made by Allied Signal. Their construction is at the bottom of the industry. Don't take my word for it, just google "fram oil filter issues" or "oil filter study" and check it out. 911 guys in particular avoid them like the plague - many documented cases of Fram filters collapsing internally in 911 applications. I only do Mahle filters on the 911 and the 928.
