So, they are both made from aluminum? The reason I ask is that I have a hot rod 911 project and I've been thinking of making some hinges. The stock ones weigh about 265 grams and I figure I could get them down to about 200 grams with a little drilling and machining work. Naturally, I also thought of forming a pair from aluminum sheet metal, or possibly making some from bent tubing, like the 959 ones.
