i had a crazy project going.. port of oakland mandated a real-time distance monitor to measure overhead clearances for the Bay Bridge...i guess really big cargo ships are rolling off the building blocks somewhere..and they can clip the bridge.. we really must need goods moved about..i think the new cargo ships are 1200 feet long (?)..dunno.
anyways, i got the job. no plans, no specs..all from the hip..been busy..and then i forget my pelican password. (i needed a cooling off period anyways)
hanging off a bridge 150 feet off the water surface is...well, let's just say you can forgo your morning coffee. you wake up quick. one day a cargo ship went under and you will die doing a "diehard" move.. hah.
well, long story short, i had some delays in spec-ing rangefinding equipment..and some time opened up. i spent it in the desert. part of the time with our very own..JIM! i love arizona this time of year. hanging with Jim reminded me to take some time to pop in and say hello. so hello!
and what do we know about 12 gauge turkey chokes?

$50 for a Hevi-shot choke ridiculous?
oh..i've taken up trail jogging and i have never been lighter on my feet.
my next job is taking an old bridge out, and building a new one.. all over a wetlands with fish and wildlife in my backseat. gah.
