I don't know exactly the wiring for a 1970 car. But from what I remember from way back when is that German headlights were fused with 4 fuses, 2 for the low beams and 2 for the high beams. This is to insure that at least one light is one when one fuse blows. So, the safe way to install relays is to put one in each of the 4 light circuits. You can just power the relay coils from the 4 fuse outputs. The relay switch outputs should then connect the 4 wires to the 4 lamp filaments with the battery plus terminal. Of course you need also 4 new in-line fuses to make those connections to the battery safe. I did exactly that in my '79SC but the same principle should work for 1970 cars. If you need further help I could come up with a general wire diagram.
