I agree the lack of records may indicated efforts to omit pertinent information in regards to ownership, mileage and service however I am now at 5 cars in a row from deceased folks and only one of them was I able to recover some records and it was months after I sold a 69, the sellers sent me a package they found while going through their late relative possessions, I sent those to the new owner.
in another case the deceased was a hoarder and the only family he had let (DAV)Disabled Americans Veterans take the whole household except for the cars, so hopes for some records was gone.
I am all too happy to hand over what ever records and spares that may come with a car.
Sometimes records are not so good.
this 69E slated to be a parts car has this for documents? a lien paper stating its a VW station wagon?
