OK, it made me cry. I have been in the same situation too many times, have buried 4. My dog is going on 11 now and thankfully she is in great shape, the other two are 4. I hate to think of "that day", but know that as sure as time itself, "that day" will come. It makes me very sad to think about losing another great companion and friend. This is the life of a dog person though. I have had at least one dog around for the past 27 years. I can't imagine life without them. So, I continue on, knowing that at some point my heart will be ripped out by their passing...a fitting tribute to the love they have given me.
