I was driving with traffic and the behavior made no sense. They did it 4 or 5 times and finally, the freeway widened and they went to the 'faster' lane -- where everyone else went. They fell miles behind (not that it was a contest!).
it's been any years since I had a Porsche, but trucks and suvs do the same thing when I'm driving the miata. They figure since you are in a tiny car and they are in an suv that you'll be afraid that they squash you. They have false bravado because they feel like they have the upper hand. They also have tiny pee-pees. I don't like to brake check, and by brake check, I mean a hard stab of the brakes. But I will drop a gear and left off of the gas or slowly but firmly apply the brakes. I've manage to scare a few trucks such that they dropped back and stopped screwing with me. Was it the best way to deal with the situation, probably not, but it worked.
