If you don't need to then don't block traffic but if you do not feel safe working at the scene then use the truck.

OK but what if, in the opinion of LE, the truck was potentially
more of a safety issue where it was parked, than if it were moved somewhere else.
All we can do is speculate without knowing more details but safety is not just about parking a fire truck anywhere you want, is it?
