Congratulations to your gutsy head first dive off the cliff. You bagged one beautifull car. The name "Uschi" reminds me of my sister Ursula. Actually the jump might be a lot shallower than you think. These cars of this vintage are solid cars with the reputation of being bomb proof. From the looks of the pictures it must have been taken care of pretty reasonably. What I would do is first drive it carefully and try to identifcy issues. Shift gears slowly and carefully. Brakes should be your first concern, of course. With the help of this forum the Wayne Dempsy "101 Projects for Your Porsche 911" book the Bentley manual for 1978-1983 911 SC's and a basic set of tools you can go a long way. These cars are built for tinkering. It is not that difficult.
