No,
The air going into the tire was air from the engine compartment, but not out of the cylinder, if I remember correctly. As the engine ran, you could hear the thing sucking air.
I do remember it seemed to take a heck of a long time to pump up a hay wagon tire with one, using a 250 cu in Chev 6. (Faster than using the hand pump, though!)
My big score from an estate sale was a jointer plane (think hand plane about 18 inches long, for making edge to edge joints). It needed a plane iron, so I got it for about $5. I figured the plane iron was going to be pricey, but the local hardware store had one for $6.95. It had been on the shelf for about ten years.
My other score was a painting I bought for .25 when I was a kid. Turned out to be a sepia water color by a regionally known artist and was worth about $50 a decade ago.
I must have had better taste then.
Oh, one thing about the guage package: In a '68 Chev half ton with the 250 cu in 6, a three on the tree and a 4:10 (I think) rear end, if you were cruising at 70 mph, you could actually watch the gas guage drop!
Best
