Turbo Tim runs an unorthodox on his 951 as far as I know. The two main benefits are reduced load and reduced weight. For the underdrive, unorthodox claims that this only accounts for 15-20% of the power improvement I believe. The rest apparently comes from the reduced rotating mass. Check out some recent issues of Sport Compact Car where they tested the pulleys on two sentras. One gained a lot and the other gained almost nothing. They attributed the large gain to the elimination of water cavitation in the SE-R. As far as weight is concerned, check out unorthodox's site where there is a search engine that can pul up almost every car's pulley. As fate would have it the 944 already has a very light crank pulley from the factory. To make a long story short, unless the 944 cavitates at high rpm, I doubt you would see any difference other than an awkard replacement belt. But don't let me stop you.
