What I was thinking - I know that part of KY has a lot of underground passages, etc.
There's gonna be a whole lot of finger-pointing at the design team, particularly the geotechnical engineer. If they can't prove they did due diligence regarding subsurface exploration and foundation system recommendation someone's in for a tough time...
This is why architects hire geotechnical engineers, or better still try to push it back on the owner if possible...
