Timeserts will eventually fail (ask me how I know!), but the Casesavers seem to be the best option we have unless someone starts reproducing the 2.7 cases in aluminum.
I used Henry Schmidt's Supertec head studs when we rebuilt my 2.7. Plenty threads on what's the best head stud to use (Supertec, ARP, factory steel, etc.). I guess in twenty years we'll know what the best choice was. I truly think that Porsche never figured these cars would have the lifespans that they have had!
