If you consider a TAG Automatic (I wear the Aquaracer), consider that every 3 to 5 years or you'll have to pay $400 for a overhaul. That adds up over the years of ownership. To add to this ONLY Tag in New Jersey is authorized to perform the work as TAG will not sell any parts to independent shops and dealers send all TAG for repair to the USA location. The problem is that the gaskets (pusher, case back and crystal) dry and wear out on this automatic watches. And winding often becomes difficult (you have to wind the TAG automatics).
As nice as the TAGs are (you can find an Aquracer for under $1500) lately, I am more impressed with the 1970's Seiko Dive watch I have owned for decades that only cost $250.00 for a total restoration that's just as good. I am tired of paying for tune-ups and overhauls for this TAG and would rather put my money in a Timex! If you want real sticker shock, check out a tune up or overhaul for a Rolex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll be happy your wearing a Seiko.
