Does anyone have experience with these guys?

I am looking for a weekend/short tour car in sufficiently good shape that I won't be quickly having major work done and that has upside potential if I choose to restore it further at some point in the future.

My main question for forum members is

Has anyone had a recent PPI done at one of the shops recommended in this thread? What did the report contain?

I know that Pelican has a PPI checklist

http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/images/misc/PrepurchaseChecklist.pdf

so one response could be

"the items on the checklist minus these items plus these items"

thanks in advance

As I mentioned previously, I have had all PPI's done by Monty at Redmond European. He does the whole enchilada--including a leakdown and compression test. Another good shop is Chris' German Auto (in Bellevue), and there are plenty of others--Seattle has a lot of Porsches. I've just always used Monty. No affiliation, etc., though he has become a friend.

I haven't heard of that dealer, but I'd be happy to look the car over for you and arrange the PPI. I'm confused at the Leary Way address/Mercer Island/Bellevue connection, because Leary Way is in the heart of downtown Seattle, and Mercer Island is, well, an island in the middle of Lake Washington--it's a whole different city. Bellevue is further still to the east. I suspect the car is consigned to Auto Connections and maybe spent its life either on Mercer Island or in Bellevue. 98107 is a the proper Seattle zip code for where Auto Connections is. Maybe the dealer just thought he'd catch a wider swath of people by advertising to those Bellevue and Mercer Island, which are the high-end burbs.

Let me know if I can help.
