a few tidbits re Paul's car - Paul was involved in the Porsche world decades ago - mid-1970s IIRC When I visited him with M.D. he mentioned that back then everybody did everything - i.e. concours, rally, races, etc.

his car had a scratch on it - and he kept it there as proof that he drove it"

and he could have sold it for much much more, but realizing that money is not the measure of all things and having enough to not have to worry about it, he sold it to a young friend of his in Turkey

maybe part of that was the politics in Portland where most of the money in this state resides; maybe it was the "collector/flipper" type of person attracted to expensive things that get more expensive over time

if he comes back, he can speak for himself - I just don't want playful fun-poking or nasty comments to obscure the facts
