I've seen people pull still in xmas wrap boxes with cashmere sweaters, gold chains, all sorts of stuff out of a dumpster when students move out.

Back in college I got a great chair that way. I was a local so I lived there year round, but lots of the kids just threw out whatever they couldn't fit in their car. Guess they actually had money to replace it.....
